Back in 2011 I ran a blog. It was pretty dimilar to this one, in that I uploaded daily and the only common denominator between my posts were that I drew something and added a personal story to back it up. In those dsys my blog mostly consisted of drawings of hot Hollywood guys and ranfom bits of inspiration. To celebrate that bygone era, I decided to draw a picture of Chris Evans. Sometimes its good to look back, even if its just to laugh at how bad I used to be.
I acknowledge that there was a severe absence from my blog yesterday and I apologize for that.
In fact, ever since I drew the Chris Hemsworth drawing I seem to be stomped, meaning I seem not to be able to draw at all.
Not that I have not tried, but whatever I draw it seems to go astray and winds up looking… off.
I had nothing of worth to upload yesterday and I am sorry I really didn’t have much to upload today wither. The only reason that I am uploading at all is that I am so close to the finish-line, that it would seem odd not to do these last uploads before new-years.
This turned out not to be a very positive blog post, which does not reflect my current mood at all. Yes, I am annoyed, but overall I am happy, it is Christmas after all. Tomorrow I will try and make a post that is more on the point of the season
This drawing is bitter-sweet for me.
On one hand I really like the colours and the fact that I just kind of played around with it on this post, on the other hand It kind of doesn’t really look allot like Chris Evans.
You know what? I blame the sketch.
It seems to me that every time I do a drawing that is sub par in anyway you can usually trace it back to the original sketch; if the sketch isn’t you can bet that the finished product wont be either.
So why did I continue the drawing after I was that the drawing really didn’t cut it? Well, I honestly did think I would end up spending 2 hours on this drawing. Had I known, I would probably have given the sketch a bit more effort.
I doubt that allot of people are aware of this, but the most viewed piece on my all of my blogs (which includes tumblr, wordpress and deviantart) is a little gem from 8 months ago called “the Chris Evans success. Here, I’ll link it here
now in this piece, Chris Evans, my Hollywood crush no. 1 kind of looks retarded. If not retarded, then at least like he has been stung 50 times in the face by a bee or something. Why, you ask, did this horribly sketch from 8 months ago make it all the way top the top of my now 230 posts?
I believe it is kind of simple. In the text I describe the little crush I have on him and that made me tag the picture thusly: “Chris”, “Evans”, “Gay”
Now I was not saying that Chris Evans himself is gay, in fact I am almost 100% certain that he is straight as an arrow, but those words in combination still gets that horrible post views and helps promote my blog… how awesome is that.
So top thank Chris Evans for the mild success, I have decided to draw him once more.
